David is the founder and CEO of LearnCoach, which provides learning support to secondary and tertiary students, inspiring them towards a better future.
Motivated by his experience as a detention-prone student, David has grown LearnCoach from helping 150 students in 2012 to over 150,000 students in 2017. These students watch over 1 million tutorials online each year. This is equivalent to filling a 300-seat lecture theatre, ten times every day − completely free!
In 2016, David was named a Future Maker by TeachNZ for his achievement in engaging students with Science and Maths study.
In September 2017, David led LearnCoach to launch New Zealand′s first ever Second-Chance-School. This is an instant ‘pop-up′ school, where any room can become an NZQA-qualified classroom; for example, a refugee centre, prison cell or hospital ward. It′s one more step towards a world where any person, at any time can have a second chance at education.
