Kia ora and congratulations on being named one of 100 Tower New Zealand Local Heroes from across Aotearoa.

You’re making a real difference in your community, and we’re incredibly grateful for the passion, time, and energy you put into helping others.

As the proud sponsor of the New Zealand Local Hero Award, we want to celebrate you and the impact you’re having. The work you do leaves a lasting mark on the people and places around you. We think more Kiwi should hear your story.

Help us tell your story

Inside your medal pack, you’ll find a window marker pen.

• We’d love you to use it to creatively show us the “mark” you’re making, or what drives you to do what you do.
• It could be a word, a phrase, a symbol, or a simple drawing that represents your purpose, your values, or your hopes for the future of Aotearoa.
• Note: the ink from the window marker pen can be easily removed from glass or mirror surfaces.

Take a photo

• Once you’ve created your ‘mark’, take a photo and send it to Abbey (localhero@nzawards.org.nz) along with a few words about what it means to you.
• Most importantly, we want you in it. Your photo could be a selfie, or you could ask a friend, or whānau member to help take it for you. And don’t forget to wear your medal.
• Feel free to get creative. You don’t have to use the pen we provided. You could write on a sticky note, share a favourite quote, create a sign, or use anything else that helps tell your story.

We’ll share your story

• Working alongside the New Zealander of the Year Awards Office, we’ll feature selected stories across our social media channels to help more Kiwi learn about the positive impact you’ve making in your community.

Thank you for the mark you’re leaving on Aotearoa.

Ngā mihi nui and thank you,
The Tower team
