2015 University of Auckland Young New Zealander of the Year semi-finalist Tabby Besley joins an elite group of 60 young leaders, selected from across the Commonwealth, to be honoured at the inaugural Queens Young Leader Awards.

Tabby (22) was a semi-finalist in the Young New Zealander of the Year category 2015, for her work with Wellington Rape Crisis, as a co-chairperson of the LegaliseLove lobby group, and largely for her work as founder and national coordinator of InsideOUT, an organisation which supports gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender youths in schools.

Tabby leaves for the UK on Thursday to receive her award from Her Majesty the Queen at Buckingham Palace, also engaging in a one-week training, mentoring and networking programme to continue developing leadership skills.

Congratulations Tabby!
