GETTING TO THE GALA
The Cordis Hotel is approximately a 20 minutes drive from Auckland International Airport. Once you’re there, you can park up at the Wilson public car park located at the rear of the Hotel off Liverpool Street. Alternatively, Cordis Auckland offers valet parking at the entrance of the Hotel for $45.00 per day.
SEATING ON THE NIGHT
We’ll do very our best to ensure that you can sit with your friends and whānau! Tickets purchased together will be seated together (or as close as possible). If you’re purchasing tickets separately, let us know the names of the guests you would like to be seated with in the ‘who are you supporting’ question prompted when checking out.
LOST YOUR TICKET?
Don’t worry, it happens to the best of us. Lost tickets can be reissued to the ticket purchaser only, and we recommend you contact the New Zealander of the Year Awards Office directly at office@nzawards.org.nz ahead of the event if you need to. Keep in mind that tickets will be re-sent to the original email address they were purchased with.
DIETARY REQUIREMENTS
When purchasing your tickets, please follow the prompts outlining any dietary requirements. If you, or your guests, dietary requirements change leading up the event drop the New Zealander of the Year Awards Office a line directly at office@nzawards.org.nz and we will notify the chef.
COVID-19
As the situation with COVID-19 continues to evolve, we’ll be doing everything we can to keep our community safe. With this in mind, we kindly ask that you:
- Stay home and rest up if you are feeling unwell.
- Self isolate if you have recently returned from overseas
- Practice good hygiene! You know the drill – cover coughs and sneezes with disposable tissues, or cough/sneeze into your elbow.
- Disposing of used tissues appropriately in a bin.
- Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water and dry them thoroughly. And keep your trusty hand sanitiser in close reach!
If you begin to feel unwell during the evening, please let a member of our staff know.
In the case of Alert Level changes in Auckland or New Zealand due to Covid-19, the Awards Office will ensure the safety of its guests and staff are front and centre. If Auckland or New Zealand moves to Alert Level Three or higher – all ticket holders will receive a full refund for their ticket.
CONTACT TRACING – SCAN IN!
We’ll make it super easy for you with Ministry of Health COVID Tracer QR codes at all entrances to the venues and on all floors of the venue. The QR codes on each level are specific to that area or space that you are in, so scan liberally! For anyone without a smartphone, we also have a manual COVID Tracer sign-in sheet located at each entrance. These details are used solely for contact tracing and will be kept confidential unless needed by the Ministry of Health.
Do it for our team of 5 million!
SANITISER AT THE READY
Our friends at Cordis are committed to ensuring all event spaces and furniture squeaky clean – and they’ll be on the job regularly to keep it that way. This includes antibacterial soap in all restrooms, along with safe hand washing guides.
We will have hand sanitiser readily available in all public areas/foyer spaces, event entrances, event venues and around catering – so lather up, friends.
Front of House staff will regularly wipe down all commonly touched surfaces with antiseptic wipes and spray, including: bar tops; handrails; door handles; and table tops.
Wellness kits (a mask and sanitising wipe) are available on request.
More information on the Cordis’ commitment to health and wellbeing can be found here.
WHERE TO STAY
The New Zealander of the Year Awards Gala Dinner will be held at the Cordis Hotel in the Great Room. When we wrap up, Auckland is your oyster – or if you’re keen for a (very) short walk to bed, guests can book accommodation at their own costs via the Cordis Hotel.
ACCESSIBILITY
If you have mobility requirements and would like us to assist in any way, let us know! You can also expect access to specialised toilets, access doors, seating areas and elevators throughout the venue. Please speak to a member of the New Zealander of the Year Awards Office if you have any questions – we’re here to help.
HOUSEKEEPING NOTES
In case of a fire, please follow Cordis staff to the hotel assembly point on City Road.
Toilets are located in the pre-function area by the coat check.
